about Taneshia

Taneshia has been living in Hillsboro for six years and is a loving wife and mother of two. With a gift of gab, Taneshia has been diligently meeting and connecting people all over Oregon, creating a community wherever she goes. She believes that actions speak louder than words and that love is for everyone.

Taneshia's Purpose

Taneshia is not running to fix a broken city, as Hillsboro is a wonderful place with much to offer; however, she believes that there is a chance for it to become even better. Her goal is to increase community engagement, ensuring that everyone gets to have their voices heard. She seeks to promote equity and for residents to feel safe regardless of race, religion, gender, and sexuality.

As mayor, Taneshia would bridge the gap between residents and politicians, for the community of Hillsboro is much greater than any label.

Taneshia is the embodiment of authenticity. What you see is the real deal! She inspires everyone around her to be and do their best, and she listens with compassion, understanding, and love. — Brianna Parrish

This woman right here is the real deal. What you see is what you get. She is not only beautiful outside but has a heart of gold. She is definitely not afraid to speak up and stand up for what is right. When you find someone like her in your life, you better take that friendship and run with it. I guess what I’m trying to say is, genuine people are hard to find. She is intelligent, kind, so fierce and loving at the same time. She is a bright light into the lives of everyone she meets and so inspiring. I’m speaking from experience, she has inspired me in more ways than one that I could write a book. Taneshia is a natural born leader and if you want a real change in your community, I encourage you to vote for my girl!

— Maria Brooks

Taneshia's super power is authentically connecting with people with little effort. Through Taneshia's connections, she scheduled a field trip to the Civic Center for me and my daughters, along with a couple of other moms. We learned how our city WERKs. We also got to go and sit at the mayor's desk. Everyone exclaimed, "You should run for mayor!" The seed was planted. Connecting for me comes naturally in business, but for Taneshia, it is a gift. When she made the decision to run for mayor of Hillsboro, I told her that people will see her picture and they will say, "I know her!" She did the WERK of connecting with the community before she even knew that running for mayor would be part of her journey. Sometimes it is not about the result, it's about the impact that you will make by saying yes to solving a problem.

— Latosha Wilson

Community starts with your neighbor! A lot of the time, our kids are a direct reflection of us. Her kids are like this wherever they go. They engage with the community because they see their Mom do it everywhere she goes. There is not a stranger this woman has met. She is kind. She is always present. She is intelligent. She is ready to help her community in every way starting with the person right in front of her.

— Nicole Higgins

You've taken on a challenge that few would dare, and that alone speaks volumes about your courage and commitment. Your ability to listen, connect, and lead with integrity makes you the perfect person to bring positive change to our city. Keep pushing forward, trust in your abilities, and remember that every great movement begins with someone like you. You've got this!

— Christian Eliades

I am consistently impressed by Taneshia’s kindness, character, and their ability to make connections with people in the community anywhere they go. I couldn’t imagine a better person who is strong-willed, intelligent, and inspiring as a role model for my kids and to help serve our community.
